About Christy O’Leary
Christy O’Leary is a singer and piper from Kenmare, Co. Kerry, with the voice of an angel. His gorgeous “emotion-laden voice” (Sing Out, USA) and distinctive and lyrical style of singing and playing have graced two of the best-known bands playing traditional Irish music in the 20th century – Dé Danann, with whom he toured in the early eighties and Irish/Scottish band Boys of the Lough, of which he was a member for twelve years until 1997.
Christy is now resident in Sweden and in his exceptional solo album, The Northern Bridge, he juxtaposes songs and music from his rich Irish heritage with evocative pieces from the Scandinavian tradition.
